Fence Project Worksheet
Use this worksheet to organize the details that help KY Fencing Works understand a fence installation, gate, repair, or replacement request. You do not need every answer before contacting us. Photos and a simple property sketch can help identify what needs a closer site review.
1. Property and project purpose
- Project address and the best onsite contact
- Residential, commercial, farm, pasture, rental, or another property type
- Privacy, boundary, pet, livestock, pool-area, access-control, appearance, repair, or replacement goal
- New fence, extension, partial replacement, gate work, or repair
- Approximate fence route or the areas that need review
2. Material and layout preferences
Note any material you are considering, such as wood, vinyl, chain link, aluminum, ornamental iron, composite or Trex-style fencing, board fence, split rail, or another farm and pasture option. If you are comparing materials, list the priorities that matter most: privacy, maintenance, visibility, pets, livestock, gate use, or appearance.
- Preferred height, style, color, or board/picket spacing
- Walk gates, driveway gates, double gates, or equipment access
- Gate width and how the opening will be used
- Existing fence sections that may stay, move, or be removed
- Photos or examples that show the desired general look without assuming an exact product or availability
3. Site conditions to flag
- Slope, drainage, retaining walls, trees, landscaping, pavement, or tight access
- Known utilities, septic components, irrigation, lighting, or underground features near the proposed route
- Pets, livestock, tenants, neighbors, deliveries, or business operations that affect access
- Existing survey pins, property documents, HOA information, or site plans available for review
- Removal, hauling, shed, gate, or related preparation questions that should be discussed separately
Property boundaries, utility locations, permits, code requirements, engineered details, and manufacturer-specific requirements must be confirmed through the appropriate owner, utility, authority, or project document. This worksheet does not replace those sources.
4. Timing and estimate preparation
- Preferred timing and any event, move, animal, construction, or access deadline
- Times when the property can be reviewed
- Who will approve material, layout, gates, and final scope
- Photos of the full fence route, gates, corners, grade changes, obstacles, and damaged sections
- Questions you want answered during the estimate review
